PiDP-1 frame assembly and installing a few panels 2025-12-19

I assembled the lower part of the PiDP-1 frame according to directions so I could see how the finished product will eventually appear. It also gives me someplace to store the finished operator's panel in the meantime. Only the lower portion is complete at this time.

I'm not happy with the initial gap in the lower corners and have asked for advice on how to correct it. I've already tried taping the joints but after tightening the gap returns.

I also wished there were clear photos in the instructions regarding how to use the frame clips to hold things in place. I figured it out quite quickly once actually using them, but did still wish for a photo. (so I took one!)

I am very pleased with how the modules (bottom panel & operator's panel) sit in the frame, and the way the T-piece divider works as seperator and fastening point.

PiDP-1 completed frame assembly (for now) 2025-12-19

I added the top section of the frame and the hangers to complete the frame. I discovered that by holding the frame upright and pressing down on the corners while gently loosening and tightening the side screw, I was able to close the corner gap significantly and also make them appear more even.

My keyboard music stand makes a great place to store the incomplete PiDP-1 while I now work on the electronic parts of the kit.
